EPDM is a rubber roofing membrane. Its seams and details rely on compatible preparation, primers, tapes and flashing materials. A repair needs to work with that system, not simply cover a dark roof with another dark material.
Seam separation, punctures and deterioration around a curb need clean, prepared adjoining membrane. The repair must reach sound material and restore continuity at the opening. At walls and penetrations, membrane movement and secure termination matter as much as the field patch.
Existing coatings, contamination and the condition of older repairs affect compatibility. We examine those conditions before deciding that a small visible split is the full repair area.
Water held by a depressed area or blocked drain continues to load the same details after a patch. Correcting the cause of ponding can require work to drainage or insulation. Overflow paths also need to remain available.
